TCL established as a subsidiary of Rugby Portland Cement Company Limited of the United Kingdom

1954

Commercial production of cement commenced

1968

Installation of Kiln 2 at TCL

1976

The Government of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago (GORTT) purchases TCL from Rugby.

1984

Kiln 3 line commissioned at TCL

1989/1990

The GORTT divests its shareholding in the Company in two phases; GOTT shareholding reduced to 29.1%

1994

The GORTT sells 20% of its shareholding in TCL to Cemex S.A. of Mexico

1996

Kiln 4 commissioned at TCL; Kilns 1 & 2 retired

1998

The GORTT divests its remaining shareholding in the Company

1999

Record levels of clinker production and cement sales achieved even as Company hit when 30,000 tonnes of Thai cement is dumped on the domestic market
