March was designated Tsunami and Earthquake Smart month by the Department of Emergency Management (DEM) in Barbados.

In recognition of this, Arawak Cement Company Ltd. partnered with theBarbados Association of Professional Engineers (BAPE) to sponsor a
workshop hosted by the University of the West Indies’ Seismic Research Centre (UWI-SRC).

The workshop, which featured a presentation by Mr. Lloyd Lynch, Instrumentation Engineer, UWI-SRC, was held at the Savannah Hotel on
Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
